Hydrogen: A Gateway to Health 001 - Hydrogen: The Remover of Harmful Reactive Oxygen Species

Hello. As a therapist with over 30 years of experience, I would like to talk about hydrogen, an element that is once again receiving attention. Hydrogen is the smallest and most abundant element in the universe, and it offers immense benefits to our health. This tiny molecule acts as an antioxidant, and by eliminating excess reactive oxygen species (ROS) in the body, it is believed to provide various health benefits such as reducing inflammation, slowing aging, and decreasing the risk of chronic diseases.

When we talk about reactive oxygen species, there are many different types. Although ROS are often seen in a negative light, “good” reactive oxygen species that protect the body also exist. The problem lies with “bad” ROS, which negatively affect our health.

Hydrogen’s key advantage is that it only acts on the bad ROS, leaving the necessary ones untouched. While other antioxidants may target both good and bad ROS, hydrogen selectively removes only the harmful ones. This is the greatest benefit of hydrogen.

Furthermore, because hydrogen molecules are so small, they have a high permeability. This property has been shown to bring about a wide range of effects, from skin application to internal diseases. Due to its unique nature, hydrogen is soluble in both water and oil, which allows it to easily pass through the bloodstream and cell membranes. Since it can readily access lipid-rich brain tissue, it has shown remarkable effects on brain-related diseases.

In summary, hydrogen’s effective antioxidant properties, high permeability, and ability to selectively remove only harmful reactive oxygen species set it apart from other antioxidants in maintaining health and preventing disease. The benefits that hydrogen offers provide new hope for our well-being.
