Hello. This time, I would like to discuss the difference in prices of hydrogen inhalers, a question many people asked after the news broke in July that the Dodgers baseball team was incorporating hydrogen inhalation. I will share my perspective as someone involved with hydrogen daily.
Hydrogen inhalers span a wide price range, from affordable types costing tens of thousands of yen (or hundreds of dollars) to high-performance machines exceeding several million yen (or tens of thousands of dollars and more). This price difference primarily stems from factors such as the hydrogen generation rate, the lifespan of the electrolytic cell, continuous operating time, and ease of maintenance.
The first major point is the hydrogen concentration and generation volume. Generally, lower-priced devices tend to have lower concentrations and can be challenging for long, continuous use. High-priced devices, on the other hand, can stably supply high concentrations and possess performance levels used in research and medical settings. The amount of hydrogen obtained through several hours of inhalation with an inexpensive device can sometimes be achieved in about one hour with a high-priced one.
Next is the difference in maintenance. Inexpensive devices often require frequent care, including regular water changes. In contrast, high-performance machines use durable materials and some require no internal cleaning, allowing for stable use over a long period. Furthermore, there are types that allow two people to inhale simultaneously, which is convenient for use at home or in a salon.
It is crucial not to judge solely by price, but to choose based on your lifestyle, considering “how often you plan to use it,” “whether inhalation during sleep is necessary,” and “how much effort you can dedicate to maintenance.” At my salon, we introduce both high-concentration and home-use models, and the machine chosen varies depending on budget and purpose.
There are excellent products available among both inexpensive and expensive hydrogen inhalers. For those considering an introduction, please thoroughly compare the specs and features to find the machine that fits your life. Hydrogen can be incorporated in various ways besides inhalation, so please feel free to consult with me anytime if you are interested.
