🌿 Blog 50-2 Opening the Door to Health with Hydrogen Oxidative Stress, Healthy Skin, and Current Hydrogen Research

Hello everyone.

In Episode 50 of my newspaper column, I introduced the relationship between hormonal changes and hydrogen-based skincare.

In Blog 50-1, we explored how hormonal fluctuations can influence the condition of our skin.

Today, I’d like to take a closer look at reactive oxygen species (ROS), oxidative stress, and why molecular hydrogen has become an important area of scientific research.

Reactive Oxygen Species Are Not Always Harmful

When people hear the term “free radicals” or “reactive oxygen species,” they often assume they are entirely harmful.

In fact, our bodies naturally produce these molecules every day. They play essential roles in normal biological functions, including supporting the immune system and cellular signaling.

However, ultraviolet (UV) exposure, smoking, air pollution, emotional stress, inadequate sleep, excessive alcohol consumption, aging, and intense physical exercise may increase oxidative stress when the body’s natural balance is disrupted.

For this reason, oxidative stress has become an important topic in both health and skincare research.

Skin Health Depends on Many Factors

Healthy skin is influenced by much more than a single ingredient or skincare product.

Hormonal balance, nutrition, sleep quality, hydration, UV protection, daily skincare habits, and overall lifestyle all contribute to how our skin looks and feels.

Because so many factors work together, maintaining consistent healthy habits is one of the best ways to support long-term skin wellness.

Why Researchers Are Interested in Molecular Hydrogen

In recent years, molecular hydrogen has attracted increasing scientific attention because researchers continue to investigate its relationship with oxidative stress.

Laboratory research, animal studies, and clinical studies are ongoing in many countries, and new findings continue to emerge.

At the same time, hydrogen is not a medication, and many important scientific questions remain under investigation.

For that reason, I believe it is important to follow the evolving research with both curiosity and a balanced perspective.

Why I Continue Learning

Clients frequently ask me questions such as:

“Can I use hydrogen mist every day?”

“What is the difference between hydrogen inhalation and hydrogen mist?”

To answer these questions responsibly, I continue studying beyond my MHI education by following current publications and scientific meetings.

My goal is to provide information that reflects today’s research while helping each client choose the approach that best fits their own lifestyle.

Inspired by Episode 50 of my newspaper column, today we explored oxidative stress and the growing scientific interest in molecular hydrogen.

Reactive oxygen species are a normal part of human biology, but maintaining a healthy balance remains an important focus of ongoing research.

Along with healthy daily habits, I continue incorporating hydrogen inhalation, hydrogen mist, and hydrogen baths into my own wellness routine while staying informed about the latest scientific developments.

In Blog 50-3, I’ll share my personal hydrogen skincare routine and some of the experiences my clients have chosen to share with me.
