🌿 Blog 4-2: — Understanding the “Initial Sensations” When You Start Hydrogen Care —

What I Couldn’t Write in the Newspaper Column

In Part 4 of my newspaper column, I briefly mentioned that some people experience subtle changes when they first begin hydrogen care.
In this blog, I’d like to gently explore why certain “initial sensations” may appear and how to navigate them comfortably.

When You Begin Hydrogen Care, Mild Sensations Can Appear

Some people report temporary sensations such as:

  • A slight heaviness in the head
  • Mild sleepiness
  • A tingling feeling in the nose
  • A sense of light fatigue

These are not side effects, nor are they harmful.
They are often described as the body’s adjustment phase when trying something new. Of course, the experience varies from person to person.

When I began hydrogen myself, I had a moment of
“Am I a little spaced out today?”
But the feeling settled soon, and I eventually noticed more lightness and clarity in both mind and body.

Case 1: “My head feels heavy” — A Common Early Sensation

In the column, I shared the example of a relative who had previously experienced a minor stroke.
When they began hydrogen inhalation, they mentioned:
“My head feels a little heavy.”

While no medical conclusions can be made, in general, such sensations are sometimes described as the body adapting to:

  • Changes in breathing rhythm
  • A shift toward relaxation
  • Gentle changes in circulation

Their discomfort eased after reducing the inhalation time and continuing slowly.
Within a few days, they said their head felt “clearer and lighter.”

For safety, I always encourage people to consult a medical professional if sensations persist or cause concern.

Case 2: A Relative with Asthma Felt a Moment of “Tightness”

Another relative who has asthma said that during the first session,
“I felt a moment where breathing felt a little difficult.”

This can happen when:

  • The airway is sensitive
  • The temperature or humidity of inhaled air feels different
  • There is a bit of anxiety or nervousness

We shortened the inhalation time and encouraged relaxed breathing.
Within a few days, that sensation disappeared, replaced by:
“It actually feels easier to breathe now.”

Case 3: Feeling Sleepy or “Heavy” Early On

Some people feel a wave of drowsiness when they begin hydrogen care.
This is often associated with the body shifting toward a relaxed, parasympathetic state—a natural response.

A friend of mine once said:
“I fell asleep without meaning to, but when I woke up, I felt great.”

If someone experiences this, I recommend using hydrogen:

  • Before bedtime
  • During rest hours
  • In a calm environment

Summary: The Key Is “Go Slowly and Listen to Your Body”

These early sensations are not harmful—they are simply natural differences in how each body responds.
Many people experience:

  • A few days of mild adjustments
  • A gradual settling of sensations
  • A clearer, lighter feeling afterward

And most importantly:
If something feels unusual or worrying, always consult a medical professional.

In the next blog (4-3), I will talk about
why hydrogen is so easy to continue and how it naturally blends into daily life.
