🌸 Episode 72: Hōjōya Has Ended, and Autumn Is Coming to Fukuoka

Hello, this is Sonata 🌿✨

Yesterday, September 18, the annual Hōjōya Festival at Hakozaki Shrine in Higashi Ward, Fukuoka City, came to an end.

Held every year from September 12 to 18, Hōjōya is one of Fukuoka’s familiar autumn traditions.

Unfortunately, on the final day this year, light rain began to fall in the evening.

Many people walked through the festival grounds holding umbrellas, so this year’s Hōjōya ended under slightly rainy skies.

Even so, seeing the long rows of festival stalls still made it feel like a true celebration.

Of course, Hōjōya is an important traditional festival with religious significance, but as someone who loves trying different foods, I also look forward to the festival stalls(笑).

Just walking around and wondering, “What should I eat?” is part of the fun.

And one of the traditional specialties associated with Hōjōya is fresh ginger.

I also love the nostalgic atmosphere that still remains at this kind of old-fashioned Japanese festival.

But every year, there is something a little strange about the day after the festival ends.

Until yesterday, the area was full of people and excitement.

Then suddenly, everything becomes quiet again.

It makes me think,

“Ah, it’s over for another year.”

In Fukuoka, I think many people feel that once Hōjōya is over, autumn is finally on its way.

Although, to be fair, we still have plenty of hot days(笑).

Still, the evenings are getting darker a little earlier, and the nighttime air is beginning to feel different.

The seasons really are moving forward little by little.

And once the festival is over, it is back to everyday life.

For me, that means hydrogen water in the morning.

A hydrogen bath at home.

And at night, I go to bed with my usual hydrogen inhalation.

These are daily habits that do not change very much, even when the seasons do.

Special days like festivals are fun, but I also enjoy returning to ordinary days afterward.

Taking a bath.

Watching a favorite movie or anime.

Listening to music.

And finally, ending the day with my usual hydrogen inhalation.

“Another day is over.”

Those simple moments have become part of my everyday rhythm.

Now that Hōjōya has ended, Fukuoka is slowly moving toward autumn.

The season of good food, movies, and music is coming.

And for someone who loves eating out and trying different foods, autumn is definitely something to look forward to(笑).

This autumn, I plan to keep enjoying the things I love while continuing my hydrogen lifestyle at my usual pace 🌿✨
