Hello, it’s Sonata here🌿
We’d been having a string of rainy days typical of the rainy season, but the other day, we finally had a lovely sunny day for the first time in a while☀️
The sky was bright from the morning, and the moment I looked out the window,
I thought,
“I’d like to go out somewhere today.”
When it rains for days on end, I inevitably end up spending more time at home.
That’s not a bad thing, though.
I usually cherish the time I spend taking a hydrogen bath at home 🛁
At the end of the day, I soak slowly in the warm water, rest my body, and quietly enjoy some time to myself.
There’s something special about taking a bath at home.
Being able to take a bath whenever I want.
Being able to soak leisurely in the tub without having to go outside.
Being able to carve out time to recharge at my own pace, even on rainy days or when I’m feeling down.
For me, a hydrogen bath is a little moment of relaxation in my daily life 🌿
But on a sunny day—especially one that comes after a long stretch of rain—I really do want to go to a hot spring.
There’s something about hot springs that you just can’t experience in your own bathtub.
That’s the sense of openness you get from an open-air bath ♨️

When I arrive at the hot spring and head to the open-air bath.
Being able to see the sky.
Feeling the breeze.
Hearing the sound of the trees swaying.
Being able to soak in the hot water while gazing at the distant scenery.
All of that creates a different kind of experience from taking a bath at home.
Soaking in the hot water, I looked up at the sky.
Since it had been a while since we’d had a break in the rain, the blue sky felt even more refreshing than usual.
A clear sky after a string of rainy days seems somehow special.
The light feels brighter precisely because it had been cloudy for so long.
The breeze feels more pleasant precisely because the air had been so damp for so long.
I felt it was a true luxury to have time to slowly savor these changes in nature while soaking in the open-air bath☀️

At home, I take hydrogen baths to pamper myself in my daily life.
And on sunny days, I head out to a hot spring to feel the sky and the breeze in an open-air bath.
It’s not a matter of which is better; each has its own unique charm.
The hydrogen bath at home is easy to naturally incorporate into daily life.
Whether it’s a busy day, a rainy day, or a day when it’s hard to go out, I can take a bath as soon as I get home.
I’m grateful that I can carve out time for myself without any special preparation.
On the other hand, hot springs are a place where I can step away from my daily routine, even if just for a little while.
I drive there, arrive at the hot spring, take off my clothes, and soak in the hot water.
That sequence of events itself helps me shift my mindset.
Open-air baths, in particular, are appealing because I can spend time feeling the fresh outdoor air.
Unlike an indoor bath, you can enjoy the moment—including the scenery, the breeze, and even the color of the sky.
On a sunny day in an open-air bath, I can’t help but take a deep breath.
I fill my lungs with air and exhale slowly.
Just that alone made me feel as though the tension that had built up during the string of rainy days suddenly melted away. 🌿

During the rainy season, there are many rainy days.
Some days, it’s hard to go outside.
Some days, the humidity makes me feel sluggish.
Some days, my plans get thrown off.
On days like that, instead of forcing myself to go far away, I just relax in my hydrogen bath at home.
For me, that alone is a precious time to recharge.
But on a sunny day—one that comes after a long stretch of rain—I’ll take a short trip to a hot spring.
I gaze at the blue sky from the open-air bath, feel the breeze, and enjoy doing absolutely nothing.
Being able to switch between these two activities feels incredibly comforting to me.
Time spent at home is important.
Time spent going out and connecting with nature is also important.
Both are small habits that help make each day a little more pleasant.
This time, after visiting a hot spring for the first time in a while, I found myself thinking as I soaked in the open-air bath:
On sunny days, I really do want to feel the fresh air outside.
And on rainy days, I can just relax in my bathtub at home.
I choose the activity that suits me best, depending on the weather and my mood at the time.
Living like this—without pushing myself too hard—might be important as we head into the hot season ahead.
At home, I take a hydrogen bath.
On sunny days, I visit the open-air bath at a hot spring.
Going forward, I want to continue cherishing these little pleasures as they come and carve out small moments of relaxation into my daily life ♨️🌿
