# 🌸Episode 48: Taking the Next Step, Even on Rainy Days

~The Japanese National Team’s Advance to the Knockout Stage and My Hydrogen Routine~

Hello, this is Sonata 🌿

We’ve been having a string of rainy days typical of the rainy season, haven’t we? ☔

I’ve heard that heavy rains have caused damage in various areas.

I’d like to express my heartfelt sympathy to everyone affected by the disaster.

When it rains for days on end, it affects our commutes, work, and daily schedules.

We need to be extra cautious about things we normally wouldn’t give a second thought to—such as flooded roads, traffic disruptions, rising river levels, and landslides.

Please don’t push yourself too hard. Check the weather forecast and information from local authorities, and always prioritize your safety.

Amid these rainy days, excitement for the 2026 World Cup is really building up⚽

The Japanese national team tied 1–1 with Sweden, securing their spot in the knockout stage.

They may not have been able to secure a win, but they accepted the draw and moved on to the next stage.

Watching them, I realize that it’s not just about the result—it’s also about the importance of preparing both mentally and physically to move forward.

Next up is a match against Brazil.

It will be a match against one of the world’s top teams, and I’m already very excited to see what kind of performance the Japanese national team will put on 🌿

I think that in a major tournament like the World Cup, the ability to reset your mindset after every match is essential.

Even after a win, you prepare for the next match.

Even after a draw, you prepare for the next match.

Even when things don’t go as planned, you reset your mindset and prepare again.

I believe professional athletes value the time they spend focusing on their physical and mental well-being—not just during the game, but also after it’s over.

They eat.

They stay hydrated.

They rest their bodies.

They prioritize sleep.

They seek treatment when necessary.

This time might not be shown on TV, but isn’t it the accumulation of these daily efforts that builds the strength needed for the next match?

I feel like our daily lives are a bit similar.

During the rainy season, plans often change due to the rain, and it can be difficult to go out.

Days when the high humidity makes your body feel heavy.

Days when low atmospheric pressure leaves you feeling a bit down.

Days when news of heavy rain makes you feel uneasy.

At times like these, I think it’s okay not to force yourself to be cheerful.

What’s important is to acknowledge how you’re feeling right now and prepare to take the next step.

For me, one way to do that is through my hydrogen routine.🌿

On rainy or humid days, you may find yourself drinking less water without even realizing it.

Even if you don’t feel like you’re sweating as much as you do in the heat of summer, you’re using air conditioning indoors while feeling the muggy heat outside.

This is also a time when it can be a little harder to trust your body’s signals.

At times like these, I incorporate hydrogen-rich water into my daily hydration routine.

When I wake up in the morning.

During breaks at work.

When I get home.

After taking a bath.

When I feel even slightly thirsty.

It’s not anything special—it’s just a way to approach the simple act of drinking water with a little more mindfulness.

Of course, drinking hydrogen-rich water doesn’t mean things will change immediately.

However, when I’m busy or my mind is distracted by the sound of rain, it gives me a chance to pause and take a moment for myself.

“Let’s take a little break.”

“Let’s hydrate.”

“Let’s not push myself too hard today.”

Those small moments of awareness are important to me.

And there’s one more thing I incorporate on rainy days: hydrogen inhalation.

I sit quietly while inhaling hydrogen.

I focus on my slow, steady breathing.

I step away from my phone and work for a bit to create some time to do nothing.

That’s all there is to it, but for me, it’s become a time to reset my mindset.

Hydrogen inhalation doesn’t mean all my physical discomforts will disappear.

Nor does it solve the anxiety caused by heavy rain or the practical difficulties of daily life.

However, on rainy days when I feel down, I focus on my breathing and take a moment to calm myself.

For me, hydrogen inhalation is one such moment.

I imagine the Japanese national team has also finished their match against Sweden and is now beginning preparations for their next match against Brazil.

They’re moving forward to the next stage while coming to terms with the draw.

Watching them do that makes me realize that even in our daily lives, even when things don’t go exactly as planned, it’s okay to just keep moving forward, one step at a time.

There are days when the rain just won’t stop.

There are days when plans change.

There are days when your body feels heavy.

On days like that, slow down a little and get yourself ready for the next step.

Drink hydrogen-rich water.

Regulate your breathing while inhaling hydrogen.

Spend a relaxing evening in a hydrogen bath.

And I go to bed early.

For me, these small habits are what help me get through the rainy season 🌿

When heavy rain continues, please prioritize your safety first.

And when you have a moment to calm down, try to pay attention to your body and mind as well.

As I look forward to the Japan national team’s match against Brazil, I’d like to spend these rainy days at a comfortable pace and prepare to take the next step ⚽☔🌿
