🌸Episode 39: Things I Want to Get in Order Before the Rainy Season Begins ~To Stay True to My Own Pace During the Changing Seasons~

Hello, it’s Sonata here🌿

As May draws to a close, I’ve started to feel that the rainy season is slowly approaching here in Fukuoka.

The humidity in the air and the look of the sky sometimes give off a different vibe from the end of spring, don’t they?☔

Even on sunny days, the air feels a bit heavy, and the atmosphere seems different between morning and afternoon.

At times like this, I find myself thinking in a fleeting moment that the seasons are shifting once again.

I live in Fukuoka, and every year around this time, I feel the unique atmosphere that comes just before the rainy season.

It’s not quite the full-fledged rainy season yet, but there’s a distinct stillness—as if we’re gradually approaching its threshold.🌿

During these transitional seasons, even if there aren’t any major visible changes, our moods and physical sensations can sometimes feel a bit off, can’t they?

Even if there’s nothing specific going on, there are days when I think, “Today feels a little heavy,” or “I want to take it slower than usual.”

I think that in the past, even on days like that, I often didn’t pay much attention to it and tried to carry on as usual.

But lately, I’ve come to feel that it might be especially important to tune into my own sensations during these times of seasonal transition. 🍀

Instead of forcing myself to be energetic, I try to leave a little room to breathe.

Rather than prioritizing just pushing myself, I choose how to spend my day in a way that suits me that day.

I feel that even such a small shift in mindset can change how comfortable my daily life feels.

For me, one of the things I like to take care of during these times is my bath time 🛁

As the rainy season approaches, there are days when the air outside feels a bit heavy, so I appreciate the time I spend soaking in the tub after coming home even more than usual.

Among my bath rituals, my hydrogen bath has become a special time for me to quietly unwind.

Whether I’ve had a hectic day or just feel a bit restless, when I soak slowly in the warm water, I can feel the tension gradually melting away 🌸

Of course, this is simply based on my own personal experience.

I’m not trying to make any definitive claims, but precisely because of the changing seasons, I’ve come to realize how important these “moments of relief” are.

At this time of year, as we approach the rainy season, you might find yourself bracing for it, even mentally.

But I feel that, especially during times like these, rather than trying to do something extraordinary, I want to cherish the comfort found in my everyday routine.

For example, going to bed a little earlier at night.

For example, making time to soak in the tub, even on hectic days.

For example, continuing to practice habits that help me feel calm.

I feel like it’s the accumulation of these small things that helps me get through the changing seasons comfortably ✨

I don’t actually dislike the rainy season itself.

There’s a certain charm to the quiet sound of rain and the way the outside world seems a little calmer—a charm that’s different from sunny days.

However, I feel that having my own way of preparing myself before the season begins is important to me right now.

Rather than making any special preparations, it’s about having something I can rely on—something that makes me think, “This is what calms me down in times like this.”

Just that alone might make my approach to the coming season a little gentler🌿

I feel that the end of May is a time when the brightness of spring and the quietness of the upcoming rainy season overlap.

Precisely because I’m in that in-between period right now, I want to avoid pushing myself too hard and instead focus on the ways of getting myself together that suit me best.

Rainy days may gradually increase here in Fukuoka from now on, but even so, I hope to spend each day comfortably by cherishing quiet moments at home and habits that help me unwind, like taking a hydrogen bath. 🌸
