Hello, it’s me, Sonata🌿
As we enter the latter half of March,
the days when you really feel pollen’s effects suddenly increase, right?🌸💨
Beyond sneezing and runny noses,
・Skin flushing
・Discomfort around the eyes
・A general feeling of sluggishness
I think many people experience these sensations too.
Actually, this time of year
is also said to be when “oxidative stress” tends to increase within the body.
So this time, I’d like to write about the relationship between hydrogen and reactive oxygen species,
and about a self-care practice I’ve adopted: hydrogen baths 🌿
What Happens in Your Body During Pollen Season
During pollen season,
the body becomes more prone to inflammatory reactions.
Reactive oxygen species (ROS) are said to be involved in this process.
ROS are important substances involved in
・Immunity
・Cell function
However, when they accumulate excessively,
it is thought they can lead to a state called oxidative stress.
During pollen season,
・Skin becomes unstable
・Body feels heavy
・Fatigue sets in easily
It is said these sensations are also related to such changes in the body’s internal environment.
Why Hydrogen is Being Researched
A major catalyst for hydrogen gaining attention in the health field
was research published in Japan in 2007.
This research
reported the potential involvement of molecular hydrogen (H₂)
in specific reactive oxygen species. Hydrogen is an extremely small molecule with the characteristics of
・Easily diffusing throughout the body
・Easily entering cells
These properties made it a subject of interest in the field of antioxidant research.
It remains an area of ongoing research worldwide.
Of course, it’s important to note that this covers the research field,
and what follows is purely my own experience.🌿
My Hydrogen Bath Experience
Recently, I started using a hydrogen bath pro machine.
Compared to the home-use hydrogen bath machine (Rita Life) I used before,
it has about three times the hydrogen generation capacity.
The time spent warming my body and relaxing in the bath
has become my daily reset time 🛁

What I notice during pollen season
During peak pollen times,
my skin and body feel more sensitive.
On such days, simply taking a long, warm bath
can bring sensations like:
・Soothing skin irritation
・Slower breathing
・A release of physical tension
This is purely my personal experience, but incorporating hydrogen baths
has made navigating spring’s unstable season feel calmer and easier.
That’s the impression I have.🌸

There are several ways to incorporate hydrogen
As I’ve written in previous installments,
I personally use hydrogen in several ways:
🌬 Hydrogen inhalation
→ For relaxing at home
💧 Hydrogen water
→ For outings or travel
🛁 Hydrogen baths
→ To relax while warming the body
I incorporate them naturally into my daily life.

Spring is the “season for rebalancing”
Spring is a season when the body is easily unsettled by:
・Temperature fluctuations
・Pollen
・Environmental changes
That’s precisely why I consciously make a little time for:
🌿 Not pushing myself too hard
🌿 Keeping warm
🌿 Rebalancing
Hydrogen baths have become one of those habits for me🌸
Summary
・Pollen season can make your body feel unstable
・Research explores its connection to free radicals and oxidative stress
・Hydrogen is a field gaining attention in antioxidant research
・I incorporate hydrogen baths as part of my self-care routine
Spring is a season of change,
so let’s take it easy
and adjust at our own pace 🌿
