🌸Episode 18: Getting in Shape Isn't the Goal ~What I'm extra careful about on good days~

Hello, it’s Sonata🌿

Today is White Day, isn’t it? 🤍

It’s a day to return kindness to someone, but I’d like to make it a day to be kind to myself too.

So far, I’ve talked about the feeling of getting in shape,

my past self when I wasn’t in shape,

and the progress of my HbA1c.

Now that my numbers have stabilized and I feel more consistent,

to be honest, there’s a part of me that feels relieved.

But actually—

I feel like this is where the real work begins.

The better you feel, the easier it is to push yourself too hard

In the past,

I would immediately overdo things as soon as I felt a little better.

“I should be fine now,”

“This much is no problem.”

I’d pack my schedule full like that,

only to collapse again before I knew it.

Back when I thought getting organized was the “goal,”

I believed stability meant freedom—

that I could do whatever I wanted.

But now, I see it a little differently.

I’ve come to see getting well not as the finish line,

but as reaching the starting line.

What I do to avoid falling apart

On days when I feel good, there are things I consciously focus on:

・Don’t cut back on sleep

・Don’t do “I can push a little harder”

・Don’t shorten my hydrogen inhalation time

Nothing special.

But precisely when things are stable,

I feel that sticking to these “basics”

is what makes it harder to fall apart.

At night, while inhaling hydrogen,

the time spent quietly regulating my breath

is my reset time.🌿

Stability is something to maintain.

My HbA1c dropping

and my cold sensitivity easing

were welcome changes.

But they don’t prove

“I’m fine now.”

A balanced state

can crumble if I let my guard down.

So now, I treasure these three things:

・Don’t push myself

・Assume there will be ups and downs

・Don’t aim for perfection

Hydrogen inhalation

has become a habit not for healing,

but for building resilience.

Summary

・Balance is not the goal

・The better you feel, the less you should push yourself

・Hydrogen is a habit to make it harder to fall apart

・Not trying too hard is the key to continuity

Right now,

I don’t find comfort in “feeling good,”

but rather value “maintaining a state that’s hard to disrupt.”

Without rushing or overreaching,

I adjust slowly.

That is my answer now.🌿
