Hello, it’s me, Sonata🌿
And Happy New Year!
How was your year-end and New Year’s period?
Some may have had a chance to rest, while others might have been busy with trips home or work.
As for me,
I try not to overbook my schedule this time of year.
Instead, I value taking time to slowly unwind the year’s fatigue
by soaking in hot springs or relaxing at home ♨️
To kick off the new year,
I’d like to share my personal observations on the “differences in relaxation quality”
between “hot springs/saunas” and “hydrogen.”

♨️ The “External Rejuvenation” Relaxation of Hot Springs and Saunas
I absolutely love hot springs and almost always visit them when traveling.
The moment I sink into the water, I can’t help but let out a “Haaa…” as my body relaxes to its core.
That time is a special kind of healing for me.
Lately, I’ve also gotten hooked on saunas.
After sweating, I jump into a cold bath, then enjoy some fresh air.
That feeling of being “completely refreshed!”—like even the fog in my head is washed away—is irresistible.
Hot springs and saunas offer a relaxation that warms your body from the outside, instantly flipping a switch.
Combined with the sense of being away from the everyday,
it feels like a special treat for myself ✨
💧 Hydrogen’s “Relaxation from Within”
On the other hand, the hydrogen inhalation and hydrogen baths I incorporate into my daily life
offer a slightly different kind of relaxation.
Rather than strong external stimulation,
it’s more like a quiet release from within,
through breathing or the water.
When inhaling,
my breath naturally deepens,
my mind settles smoothly,
making it easier to create “time to think of nothing.”
In the bath too, as you relax enveloped in steam,
you feel a gentle warmth spreading deep within your heart.
If hot springs and saunas are “active healing,”
then hydrogen is “quiet healing.”
That’s how I experience it.
(※This is my personal experience; individual perceptions may vary.)

🌿 Each offers its own unique comfort
Both hot springs/saunas and hydrogen
are times that lead to relaxation,
but I feel there’s a difference in how the body perceives them.
- Hot Springs/Sauna
→ Relaxation that warms you from the outside, switching you off instantly
- Hydrogen Inhalation/Hydrogen Bath
→ Relaxation that quietly regulates you from the inside
It’s not about which is better or worse,
but rather a sense that they serve different roles.
On trips, I thoroughly warm myself from the outside;
in daily life, I gently ease myself from the inside.
This distinction in how I use them feels incredibly comfortable to me right now🌸
☁️ Summary
- Hot Springs/Sauna: Active healing that warms you from the outside
- Hydrogen Inhalation/Hydrogen Bath: Gentle healing that calms you from the inside
- Using them appropriately for different situations makes it easier to balance mind and body
In the next episode, Episode 5,
I plan to delve a bit deeper into this theme,
writing about the “difference in sustainability” between hot springs/sauna and hydrogen,
from the perspective of “the extraordinary and the ordinary” ♨️
This year too, let’s take it easy,
enjoy the journey, and find our own pace to stay balanced.
Wishing you all the best for the year ahead🌿
