Hello, this is Sonata 🌿✨
We are now in the second week of October, and there are more and more days when the cool autumn breeze feels wonderfully pleasant.
When people think of autumn in Japan, one of the first things that comes to mind is the “autumn appetite” 🍁
Just seeing the seasonal ingredients displayed in supermarkets and fruit stands — like pacific saury, matsutake mushrooms, chestnut rice, roasted sweet potatoes, and juicy pears and persimmons — somehow makes my heart leap with excitement.
Because I love delicious food, this season naturally gives me far more opportunities to go out on my days off in search of tasty treats.
Just the other day, drawn outside by the refreshing, clear autumn weather, I took a short drive out to a fruit orchard in the countryside 🚗
The farm was located in a nature-rich area surrounded by gentle hills. With crisp air and vast fruit orchards spreading out, it was a wonderful place to feel refreshed the moment I arrived.
This time, I enjoyed picking persimmons, one of the true symbols of autumn flavors.
The freshly picked persimmons, which had ripened to a vivid orange under the full autumn sun, were astonishingly sweet and juicy, bringing an instant smile to my face with every bite.
At the farm stand, they also offered delicious fresh pears and grapes. As I tasted one seasonal blessing after another, I realized before long that I was completely full.
On the drive home, my stomach felt quite heavy, and I had to laugh a little to myself, thinking, “I guess I got a bit carried away” 😅

Taking the time to savor seasonal delicacies to your heart’s content is a blissful experience like no other.
At the same time, however, on the night or the morning after eating so much, you might sometimes feel full, heavy, or somewhat sluggish.
October is especially a period when lingering summer fatigue might still remain deep in our bodies, and the temperature difference between day and night can easily sway our autonomic balance and overall physical rhythm.
In the past, I might have felt overly guilty about overeating, trying to skip meals the next day and ending up feeling even gloomier.
Now, however, I can switch my mindset positively: “Since I enjoyed delicious food so much, let’s take extra gentle care of myself at home tonight” 🌿
What gently supports my autumn meals and weekends is my hydrogen routine, which has blended completely into my everyday life 😊
When I return home from an outing on a day off, I start by taking a slow, relaxing bath.
I always love hot springs when traveling, but to enjoy that same soothing feeling at home, I draw a slightly lukewarm bath and add hydrogen to enjoy a “hydrogen bath” 🛁
Enveloped by the delicate bubbles, I gently stretch my arms and legs in the warm water and take slow breaths.
As I gradually warm my body and my legs after so much walking in the chilly autumn air, I feel a gentle sense of comfort, as if the tension in my stomach and body from overeating is softly melting away.

And from the time I get out of the bath until I go to sleep, it is time for my nightly staple: hydrogen inhalation 🌙
I dim the lights in the room, switch on the soft glow of indirect lighting, play some quiet acoustic music in the background, and gently breathe through the cannula.
Using hydrogen inhalation does not mean that what I ate will magically digest immediately, nor does it mean that any discomfort will vanish into thin air.
However, quietly closing my eyes, calming the excitement from dining out and traveling, and feeling grateful for having spent such a wonderful day serves as an indispensable reset time that gently returns my mind and body to their natural, neutral state ✨

When I wake up the next morning, I start by drinking a glass of room-temperature hydrogen water, slowly hydrating my throat 💧
By gently delivering hydration to my body in the morning, I feel as though I can start another new day with a light, refreshed feeling.
Because it is the season of hearty autumn appetites, it is not about suppressing the joy of eating, but rather enjoying food to the fullest when you indulge, and caring for yourself comfortably when you are at home.
Ever since I learned to strike this kind of comfortable balance, the autumn season has felt far richer and more enjoyable than before 🍂
I hope you all enjoy your favorite seasonal flavors while taking time to relax in ways that suit you best.
