Hydrogen: A Gateway to Health 026 – Preparing the Immune System for Winter with Hydrogen

Hello. This time, I’d like to talk about how hydrogen may support the immune system, which is essential for staying healthy during winter. Although this year’s winter has relatively mild, colds and influenza still spread easily in the cold season, and many people continue to feel the fatigue from the busy year-end and New Year period, making it a time when it’s easy to feel unwell. Now is the time to focus on the potential of hydrogen.

Hydrogen’s antioxidant properties are expected to reduce excess reactive oxygen species in the body and ease oxidative stress. Since excess reactive oxygen species are regarded as one of the factors that can interfere with immune cell activity, taking in hydrogen may help keep immune function in better balance. It is also expected that lower oxidative stress may moderate inflammatory responses in the body and support healthier immune reactions.

This winter has seen sharp temperature fluctuations, making it a particularly difficult season to keep feeling well. When the cold causes body temperature to drop, hydrogen may help promote better blood circulation, warm the body from within, and possibly support immunity. With improved blood flow, immune cells can circulate more efficiently throughout the body, and many hope this will allow the body’s natural defense functions to work more smoothly.

At my salon, many clients who incorporate hydrogen during the cold winter season report that they “feel less cold and are less likely to catch a cold.” We also hear that hydrogen can indirectly contribute to the body’s overall resilience. This is potentially achieved by aiding the body’s natural filtering processes and encouraging internal cleansing for those fatigued by irregular eating habits or overindulgence during the year-end and New Year holidays.

Ways to take in hydrogen include hydrogen inhalation, drinking hydrogen water, taking hydrogen supplements, and enjoying hydrogen baths. Why not make use of hydrogen this winter to help support your immunity and get through the cold season feeling energetic and well? If you’re interested, please feel free to try incorporating hydrogen into your daily life in a way that suits you.
