🌸Episode 40: The Night I Sought Solace When My Sore Throat Was Bothering Me ~A Quiet Night Spent Inhaling Through Both My Nose and Mouth~

Hello, it’s Sonata here🌿

May is drawing to a close, and lately I’ve been hearing more and more people around me talk about cold-like symptoms.

I actually felt a bit under the weather myself the other day and had a few days where I was bothered by a sore throat and a runny nose.

I didn’t have a fever, but the sore throat was so intense that even drinking water was painful.

Every time I swallowed something, it stung, and I spent the day thinking, “This is really tough.” 🍀

I also had a runny nose, so even though I wasn’t short of breath, I just felt restless the whole time.

At times like this, while the physical discomfort is one thing, it’s even more common to feel down, wondering, “How long is this going to last?”

At a time like that, I decided to try using a hydrogen inhaler.

That day, I set it to 600ml for two people and spent the time inhaling through my nose as well as using an oral cannula to inhale through my mouth.

Since my throat was bothering me quite a bit, I wanted to approach it in a way that would help me feel calm, rather than just quietly inhaling as I usually do.

I tried inhaling through both my nose and mouth because it felt like the right approach for me that day.🌿

Of course, this is just my personal experience, but as I quietly continued inhaling for a while, the discomfort in my throat—which had been so intense—seemed to ease a little.

At first, even drinking water was quite painful, but after the inhalation, I found myself thinking, “Maybe it’s a little easier than before.”

Even just this small change—feeling “a little better”—was incredibly welcome to me at that moment.

When you’re feeling down, even the slightest thing that helps calm your mind can make a big difference in how you get through the day, right?

For me, on days when I’m feeling unwell like this, my top priority is not to push myself too hard.

Rather than rushing to fix things quickly, I focus on staying warm, keeping things as quiet as possible, and creating time for myself to calm down.

In that process, I sometimes feel like the time spent inhaling hydrogen gently supports me.

Especially this time, since my sore throat was really bothering me, I felt even more at ease by inhaling through my mouth as well as my nose.

It wasn’t so much about making a big change, but more about incorporating it with the mindset of “making things just a little easier for myself right now” ✨

When you’re feeling under the weather, you really come to appreciate the things you usually take for granted, don’t you?

Drinking water, eating, having a normal conversation.

Just when those simple, everyday things become a little difficult, it makes you realize how surprisingly fragile daily life can be.

That’s exactly why having time to take care of yourself on days like that might be so important.

For me, that was the time I spent quietly inhaling.

I made a conscious effort to stay as calm as possible, inhaling through both my nose and mouth in whatever way felt right for me. 🌸

This experience has reminded me once again of how important it is to be gentle with myself and not rush things, especially on days when I’m feeling under the weather.

Rather than pushing myself to get better right away, I try to focus first on finding moments of comfort even amidst the discomfort.

I feel that doing just that makes a huge difference in how I feel.

On days when a sore throat or a runny nose is bothering me, it really drains my energy, doesn’t it?

In those moments, I felt that my hydrogen inhalation sessions helped me once again.

From now on, especially on days when I’m feeling a little under the weather, I want to avoid pushing myself too hard and focus on finding the self-care methods that work best for me. 🌿
